-------------------- WELCOME & CONTENTS -------------------- Hello again, and welcome to your fortnightly newsletter from the offices of TrainerTrackStats. In this issue: - Review since last newsletter - System angle: "Back To The Well" - The TTS Joke... - Tomorrow's qualifiers ------------------------------ REVIEW SINCE LAST NEWSLETTER ------------------------------ A nasty and protracted bout of seconditis is upon us currently, none more so than today, when no less than four of the five TTS qualifiers, all finished in the runners up spot. Odds of 5/2, 3/1, 5/1 and 8/1 were of cold comfort to 'win' backers. However, some savvy followers are continuing to make excellent profits by supporting qualifiers in the place only markets. The racing calendar quietens down a little for a couple of weeks now, with pretty standard fare until Boxing Day, when the King George Steeplechase reignites a fire under the winter game. This year, it promises to be a belter with any number of pretenders lining up to take on the current star: Kauto Star, that is. After his facile victories in two graded chases this season, Kauto is rightly the one to beat. But an underrated rival who proved he's on the upgrade may well take him on in Exotic Dancer. Quietly fancied for both the Murphys Open GOld Cup and the Paddy Power Gold Cup, he stalked anonymously in mid-pack to breeze through late, and win with something to spare. Whether he'll have the raw speed to cope with Kauto is another question. Whatever happens at Kempton, should he show up, Exotic Dancer is definitely one to follow back on a stiffer circuit. --------------------------------- SYSTEM ANGLE: "BACK TO THE WELL" --------------------------------- A simple system with impressive results. There's a lot to be said for following horses who are quickly returned to the track after a win, or a close up finish. Using my ever faithful RacingSYstemsBuilder software (the same enormous racing database I use to identify the trends in TrainerTrackStats), I set out to exploit this, and identify a profitable trend. And boy, have we done that! If you'd bet all young horses (3-7yo's) turned out within a week of their last run, where they were sent off either favourite or 2nd favourite, and had won (or were beaten less than a length) last time out, you'd have scored 80 winners out of 255 runners, for a whopping £760 to a £10 level stake. THats a 30% return on investment over five years! The horse went on to win the race, streaking ahead of the opposition. Before the next race he saw the priest go over to another horse and sprinkle it with holy water. Like the first horse it went on to win its race. The guy said to himself that if the priest sprinkles another horse with holy water I am going to bet every penny I have on that horse. Sure enough, the priest went over to another horse and sprinkled it with holy water. So the guy went to a bookie and bet every penny he had on this horse. Then the race started and the horse that the priest sprinkled with holy water dropped dead about 100 yards after the start of the race. The guy was devastated. So he went over to the priest and said, "What's going on here? The last two horses you sprinkled with holy water went on to win their races, and this last one you sprinkled dropped dead after only 100 yards. I had put every penny I had on it's nose!" The priest replied, "You're not Roman Catholic, are you?" The guy admitted that he was not and asked, "But, how do you know that?" The priest said, "Because you don't know the difference between giving a blessing and administering the last rights." ------------------------------------- TOMORROW'S TRAINERTRACKSTATS RUNNERS ------------------------------------- Below are tomorrow's TTS qualifiers, subject to being 14/1 or shorter in the market: Newbury 12.15 Oldrik 12.50 Hot N'Holy From Dawn To Dusk 1.20 Rio Bravo Magical Quest Hearthstead Wings 3.00 Supreme Royal If you'd like to receive these selections free for a week, simply log on to www.TrainerTrackStats.com/subscribe and follow the link for your FREE 7 day trial.
